A Little About Us
From Our Managing Director,
Richard Wallis
I have been working within YUM! Brands for over 25 years, starting my career as a delivery driver for Pizza Hut in 1995. While this was a job to make ends meet while at university, I soon realised that I was onto something special. I was drawn to KFC’s fast pace and the culture, and when my Area Manager encouraged me to become a Restaurant General Manager, I felt I was on the right track. I fell in love with the people and the business and after a broad career across Australia, I was given the opportunity to move to Canada in the role of General Manager for Pizza Hut. With a talented team and the right strategy, the Canadian business returned to consecutive years of sales and unit growth.
From here, I moved closer to home where I assumed the role of Managing Director and General Manager of KFC Greater Asia based in Singapore. I had the pleasure of working with our incredible Franchise Partners in countries across the region.
Then in April 2020, I returned back down under, and I’ve been Managing Director of KFC South Pacific ever since. Since returning, I have enjoyed partnering with our Leadership Team and Franchise Partners to navigate the business through the pandemic, and develop KFC’s future strategy to revolutionise our customer experience underpinned by our distinctive people-led culture.
I have loved where my career at Yum! Brands and KFC has taken me over the last 25 years. There is no shortage of opportunities for people to learn and grow with our business. So, if you’re here checking out what we have to offer and you like what you see, I might just see you around as you go through our recruitment process.

Our Recipe For Success

No one can deny what the unique flavours of the 11 herbs and spices have done for our success. But our main success comes from the flavour that our people bring to the business. This is our 12th ingredient - our people’s hard work, hospitality, authenticity and grit. These values are part of our DNA. They are lived by our people and continue to shape our culture. We want to create a culture where everyone has a seat and voice at our table and can make a difference. Our recipe for success is to put our people first, trusting that satisfied guests and profit will follow. That is why we believe our people are our greatest asset and competitive advantage.
