Meet The Team
You will no doubt know us for our 'finger lickin’ good' chicken, but what you might not know is that behind the scenes, we have a talented Restaurant Support Centre corporate team that drive and support the great initiatives that our Restaurants execute.
Working At KFC
At KFC, our people are our number one priority. All you have to do is ask around, and our people will tell and show you that we really live and breathe our people-first culture.
From Our General Manager Kristi Woolrych
I’ve had the pleasure of working at KFC Australia for four years. My time with our incredible brand began in 2018 as Chief Marketing Officer for KFC SOPAC. At the outset, my responsibility was to drive sales growth through food innovation and retail communications. Almost three years later, I was appointed Chief Marketing and Information Officer in April 2021, which expanded my role to lead KFC SOPAC’s digital and technology agenda, including strategy and the digital consumer experience execution.
A Bit About Us...

I am the People Field Operations Director at KFC. In my role, I lead the People and Culture team that supports our Field teams relating to the Registered Training Organisation, generalist people support for restaurants, industrial relations, national safety and training and overall Team Member experience in Restaurants.
What initially drew you to KFC and how has your career grown since joining the company?
After conversations throughout my recruitment process, it became very apparent how committed to people KFC is. Something I remember thinking is that KFC are a people brand that happen to sell great tasting chicken.
What has been your favourite project to work on at KFC?
During my time at KFC, I've really enjoyed developing a fun and engaging development process where our young Team Members set short-term and long-term goals for their future. Be it saving to buy a car or having that light bulb moment they decide to pursue a career at KFC.
What is your favourite KFC product?
The Zinger Tower Burger is a cult KFC product and without doubt my favourite product. It's not available all the time so when it's on the menu, I'm sure to get my fill!
Tell us a fun fact about yourself.
Not many people know that I was born in Nairobi, Kenya and I came to Australia with my family when I was 10.

Warren Mo
Marketing
What is your role at KFC?
I’m a Marketing Manager at KFC, responsible for Delivery as an emerging channel for customers to get their KFC. My goal is to ensure the experience for Delivery is a great one, for both our Restaurants and customers.
What initially drew you to KFC and how has your career grown since joining the company?
I was firstly drawn to how iconic the KFC brand is. As a Marketer, I find it helps when you can put yourself in the customer’s shoes (as a fan of tasty fried chicken) and have a sense of pride for the brand you’re promoting. Secondly, the challenge and growth opportunities at KFC. I’ve been fortunate enough to work on different initiatives from growing our online sales mix through acquiring new customer members, entering new spheres like retail value to grow transactions, and working on projects that have involved tech integrations to grow our digital capability. And finally, the unique heart-led culture which is very much aligned to my personal values and allows me to be my best self.
What has been your favourite project to work on at KFC?
My favourite project has been working on ‘The Great Bucket Hunt’ – a mobile-based adventure game with augmented reality. There was a real sense of courage, trust and willingness to try something new from our Leadership Team. The project truly took a village. To collaborate with bright-minded, selfless, compassionate, and talented people across various skillsets is something I’ll always be grateful for when I look back on this project.
What is your favourite KFC product?
My go-to favourite is a Zinger Burger, customised by adding cheese and Supercharge sauce. A Restaurant General Manager shared this amazing hack with me while I was doing a Pulse Day in Restaurant. It has been a game changer for me!
Tell us a fun fact about yourself.
When I was a kid, I was a ‘ball boy’ for my favourite NRL footy team. It didn’t last long though. Instead of fetching the ball, I was busy being star-struck watching the game.
Simone Aiello >Supply Chain Management
I am a Supply Chain Manager and I look after the KFC packaging and distribution categories.
Simone Aiello
Supply Chain Management
What is your role at KFC?
I am a Supply Chain Manager and I look after the KFC packaging and distribution categories. My team's role is relationship management of our suppliers and ensuring continuity of supply from the manufacturing plants right through to our Restaurants. We work closely with our Franchise Partners, Restaurants and internal teams by assisting in sourcing new products, unlocking growth with our suppliers and most importantly – finding ways to make our Restaurant General Managers’ lives easier!
What initially drew you to KFC and how has your career grown since joining the company?
Right from the start I could see that KFC is a people-first business. The culture is second to none and I understood immediately why KFC had such a high retention of staff with so many years of service. I have been lucky enough to have moved around a few categories within the Supply Chain Team. This has broadened my knowledge of our supplier base, the high-quality standards of our food and understand the various logistics challenges required to bring our products to Restaurants.
What has been your favourite project to work on at KFC?
This one is hard to answer! I really love our New Product Development work and the exciting projects that we help to bring to life in Restaurant that can potentially move on to becoming a cult product. With my work in the packaging category, I am fortunate enough to work on the project team that investigates the sustainability of our packaging items. I work with our suppliers to find sustainable alternatives for our packaging, and it is my personal goal to find and use them wherever I can. What I love the most though, is how much passion and drive I have gained in this space and enjoy taking the business on the journey with me, as well as educating people how we can all make improvements that will benefit the planet.
What is your favourite KFC product?
Hands down my go to product is the Zinger Burger with Supercharged Sauce. The Restaurant teams know this is my order whenever I'm out visiting.
Tell us a fun fact about yourself.
Several years ago, I survived the night in a bungalow on the Big Island of Hawaii, all while a hurricane wreaked havoc across the place. It was scary. I remember the next day being without power and somehow the only places that were open in town were the drive thru restaurants. They had ridiculously long queues of cars surrounding them. I can only imagine the pain that the Supply Chain teams dealt with over there that following week. Little did I know at the time how much I'd appreciate what such a team does!
Skye Baker >Development & Property
Senior Property and Development Manager. I oversee the SOPAC Market Plan and growth strategy.
Skye Baker
Development & Property
What is your role at KFC?
Senior Property and Development Manager. I oversee the SOPAC Market Plan and growth strategy, new site development, work with Franchise Partners to build their development pipeline and work with the Property Team who look after our existing restaurants. It is a very exciting and busy department to work in as we are about to have our third year of over 30 new restaurant openings in a mature market
What initially drew you to KFC and how has your career grown since joining the company?
I had a friend who had done some work for KFC and loved it. She talked me into applying for a role. I started as a Property Manager, was promoted to Network Property Manager then after 3 years with KFC resigned to relocate to South Africa with my husband. Upon my return 3 years later and with a toddler and a baby (5 weeks old) I started doing some casual work to 'fill in' while a new Property Manager was hired and 14 years later, I am still here having moved through property, franchising and development roles. When I first came back after being away my baby daughter came to the office with me!!!
What has been your favourite project to work on at KFC?
So far, my favourite project has been working on the development of our market plan and growth strategy. With so many new data sources we can better than ever before understand where to put restaurants and create growth opportunities for Franchise Partners.
What is your favourite KFC product?
I love the fillets box – an OR fillet, a zinger fillet, chips, gravy and an additional side of coleslaw
Tell us a fun fact about yourself.
A fun fact is I left KFC in 2003 because my husband and I moved to South Africa for his work. We lived in Johannesburg and fell in love with the country and its beautiful people. We spent three years travelling around Africa and our daughter Ally was born there. Some memorable moments were waking up in a game reserve to find an elephant drinking water from our plunge pool, feeding baby lions and visiting Victoria Falls. We consider South Africa our second home and hope to visit again soon once we can travel again.
Hilda Tingle >Information Technology
My role involves designing the strategic approach, establishing effective governance, and managing change and support operations within the Technology team.
Hilda Tingle
Information Technology
What is your role at KFC?
I am the Technology Portfolio Governance Manager. My role involves designing the strategic approach, establishing effective governance, and managing change and support operations within the Technology team. This role provides leadership, coaching and training to cross-functional teams and stakeholders on best practices for Agile and Waterfall initiatives. Collaboration with Franchise Partners and other stakeholders is facilitated through our Agile way of work and Scrum framework.
What initially drew you to KFC and how has your career grown since joining the company?
It was the culture that drew me to KFC. I would encourage anyone to join KFC because the culture here is unlike any I have experienced in my career to date. It's a people-focused business that's authentic in everything it does. I joined KFC initially as a Project Manager and have since been given the opportunity to grow into the role of the Technology Portfolio Governance Manager. The next few years will be a journey of change for all of us in the IT team, aligning with the other KFC teams to deliver exceptional customer experiences and ensuring we provide our Restaurants and Team Members with functional and efficient technology.
What has been your favourite project to work on at KFC?
There have been many, and I can't choose as that's like asking who your favourite child is! I'm excited for the KFC business to adapt our Agile way of work and delivering incremental, workable technology whilst adapting to change and still making a huge impact in our Restaurants. We are working on very exciting technology coming into our Restaurants over the next 6-18 months, which we know will help our Restaurant Managers provide epic experiences to our customers.
What is your favourite KFC product?
Hands down, Hot Rods. I could eat them for the rest of my life!
Tell us a fun fact about yourself.
Afrikaans is my first language, and I didn't speak English until I was 13. This translated to having a lot of 'Hilda-isms' over the years. A team made a confluence page for me years ago so they can translate my 'language'… I still stand by 'take the monkey out of you' (take the Mickey out of you) mine still makes more sense…
Chantelle Smith >Operations

Chantelle Smith
Operations
What is your role at KFC?
I am the Operations Innovation Manager at KFC. My role, together with my team, is to make it easier for our Restaurant teams to run great restaurants through identifying and implementing solutions to unlock restaurant efficiencies and deliver an epic customer experience.
What initially drew you to KFC and how has your career grown since joining the company?
I started working at KFC when I turned 14, a little over 20 years ago. Both my brother and sister already worked for KFC and at a family night I got to see how the products were made and how friendly and welcoming everyone was. I have had the opportunity to work in 13 different roles across both our Field and Restaurant Support Centre and I have worked with so many amazing people along the way.
What has been your favourite project to work on at KFC?
There have been so many great projects I have been involved in over the last 20 years. But if I must pick one it would be working on a digital platform for the Restaurants. I was fortunate enough to collaborate with the Global Operations team to help develop and bring to life the digital platform, which saw every KFC Restaurant in Australia transition from using a daily paper-based diary to using this digital platform. The project has helped to unlock restaurant improvements and efficiencies, particularly for our Restaurant Managers.
What is your favourite KFC product?
Hot and spicy chicken is my all-time favourite. Nothing beats a juicy, thigh piece of Hot and Spicy chicken dipped in our delicious gravy!
Tell us a fun fact about yourself.
I am an avid Ultramarathon runner, and you will regularly find me training for a new adventure. I love being out in nature exploring new trails in our beautiful bushlands. Trail running offers a new adventure every time, some days you are lucky enough to see beautiful wildlife, some runs you hear nothing but the sounds of the trees swaying in the wind and others you get to jump through muddy puddles.
